“This series is inspired by the darkness and light found in stories, myths and folk lore. I have incorporated children’s toys, hand made ceramics, organic materials, found objects, and acrylic paints to create these archetypal and dreamlike pieces. The final product is a collection of ephemeral artwork that reside in a strange land between reality and fiction, abstraction and representation as well as sculpture and painting.”

Mim Weisburd is a genderfluid mixed media artist who has exhibited throughout the country. Most recently, Weisburd’s work has exhibited at Split Culture Gallery, City Art Gallery, The Center for Sex and Culture, The Lesbian and Gay Center of North Carolina, and Fresh Meat in the Gallery. www.mimart.com.

Co-presented by Fresh Meat Productions and the Jon Sims Center for the Arts.
