The Outsider Chronicles is a full-evening concert of Artistic Director Sean Dorsey's groundbreaking choreography. Named one of the international dance scene's most promising artists (BalletTanz) and the winner of Isadora Duncan Dance Awards in both 2007 and 2006, as well as the 2006 Goldie for Performance, Dorsey is an acclaimed transgender choreographer who has developed a distinct voice with his powerful fusion of modern dance and storytelling. The Outsider Chronicles is an intimate dance theater journey into the world of the gender outsider. Playful, evocative and deeply moving, The Outsider Chronicles fuses dance, theater, storytelling and original scores to dive into aspects of coming out and living as transgender … foiled first love, lovers' spats, coming out (or not) to family, road trips, homophobic violence and learning what "til death do us part" really means, and the joys of therapy.
